Can Adults Use The Trampoline Along With Children?
Many parents call our team and ask this question often. Generally the perception is that trampolines are made for children. That is true in most cases in regards to the entry level or budget trampolines on the market. There are however trampolines that are built to be used by adults and children alike, such as Skyhigh Trampolines, Xtreme 360 Trampolines and Supertramp Trampolines. These trampolines have been designed specially though to accommodate the weight and stress that an adult will put onto the trampoline. Most good quality trampolines come with a guide as to how many bouncers it can take and what the weight limits are etc. We have written this guide to help you choose the right trampoline for you and your family.
Size: The sizeof the trampoline is vitally important and no less than 12ft if it's round or 10ft if it's square or oval. The size has a big impact on the performance of the trampoline as well as the frame strength and springs used. As the trampoline sizes get larger so the materials used and the amount of materials used increases. The larger the diameter of the bed, the more steel is used in the frame to cope with the stress and higher tensile springs are used. This means that the trampoline can handle adults along with children's weight at any one time. Another reason to go for only larger trampolines is that they are safer when there are more than one bouncer at a time. When you have more than one bouncer at a time you have the double bounce effect where people of different weights counteract against each other which is what causes accidents. In larger trampolines this is not the case as there is a larger bounce area which counteracts that movement. The larger the trampoline, the less likelihood of accidents and the better the bounce.
Shape: Round trampolines were the preferred shape for multiple bouncers for many years, but that has changed since technology has helped us develop new shapes of trampolines that can accommodate more than one bouncer at a time. As a rule of thumb, round trampolines are still the most popular option. However there are rectangular trampolines and oval trampolines on the market that can take multiple bouncers and adults weight. We always advise that you give the retailer a ring first to ensure that the trampoline you are looking for does what you need it do.
Weight: Weight limits are a big indicator as to how many people the trampoline can take, generally the higher the weight limit, the more people the trampoline can take. Another key indicator is the trampoline frame thickness. The thicker the frame the safer the trampoline. We sell all our own brand trampolines with a T Bar Trampoline frame system. This means that the trampoline frame itself doesn't have any welds and rather uses a snap together slot frame system. This means that there are no weak points on the frame where it has been welded and ensures extra safety for you and your family.
