However, while enjoying these “luxurious” possessions, often the frames or lenses are damaged, or simply needs slight maintenance due to natural wear and tear. It’s here that you need proper and good care of your authentic designer sunglasses.
Here are some tips that’ll help you in maintaining your designer sunglasses:
- Check your sunglasses periodically for loose screws and untidy nose-caps. Always keep a multiple-use screwdriver with you that is specially made for tiny screws used in Sunglasses. While using the screwdriver, make sure that you do not tighten the screws too harshly lest it could damage the frame or lens.
- Another thing you can easily check if the lenses are properly fitted within the frame. Quite often, when you use sunglasses regularly, the lenses become loose and tend to get displaced from their usual position. Transitions Lenses, should I order them with Anti Reflective Coating.?
I just use them as sunglass alternatives. Also what is the proper way to clean lenses with anti reflective coating?
Transitions are great with an antireflective coating!!!!
Antireflective coatings reduce glare that can actually reduce visual acuity and also the coating allows for better light transmission actually making the transitions work better.
In combination this will make a great lens to increase visual comfort and acuity. The appropriate quantity of light is an important determinant of both visual acuity and visual comfort. Too much or too little light can result in eyestrain, squinting, or eye fatigue. Change in lighting conditions throughout the day can significantly affect the patient’s visual acuity and visual comfort. This is why transitions are a great choice. Glare, in particular, contributes to decreased acuity and comfort and this is why you would benefit from an antireflective coating!!!
To answer the second part of your question, you can use the special spray they sell in optical stores for antireflective coatings..... I find these sprays severely overpriced!!!
If your lenses are not too dirty just rinse your glasses with luke warm water (not hot) or you can make your own solution out of water, a MILD dish detergent like dawn and little bit of rubbing alcohol. Always use the appropriate cloths made for cleaning lenses they are reusable, you can throw them in the laundry, just make sure when you wash them that you use minimal amount of laundry detergent and absolutely NO fabric softener!
The key to keep your lenses looking great is always rinse your lenses before wiping to prevent scratching your lenses and never use strong chemicals like windex, or expose your lenses to extreme heat!!!!

EDIT**** I would just like to clear up the misconceptions of antireflective coating and transition lenses
1. A mild soap (baby soap/ mild dish detergent) free of moisturizers and beads will not harm your lenses
2. Antireflection coatings are not just for people on TV... that is totally inaccurate!
The benefits of antireflection coatings include: reducing glare from computer screens, reducing glare for night driving and better cosmetic appearance. This coating is great I would not get a pair of glasses without antireflective coating!!!!
3. Transitions provide protection from UV rays and the tint is activated by the amount of UV in the atmosphere.
So it is true they will not activate fully in the car (because the windshield is UV protected) but obviously your eyes will still be protected from UV rays from your lenses and the windshield!!!
Anyways check out this new drive wear lens it is a photochromic lens that will darken behind your windshield and it is also polarized!!!!
