Best City For Community College? Norfolk, Petersburg, or Richmond?
Im from Michigan and I want to move to Virginia. Which community college is the best? I want some of the university party life and I don't mind the cost. Which school/city is better for me? Tidewater, John Tyler or J. Sargent Reynolds?
I'm, currently in John tyler, chester campus. Let me tell you it is extremely boring. I was accepted to the 3 cc you mentioned. Tidewater cc is located in va beach, has more campuses and it is larger than the other 2, however, do not underestimate the fact that they are community colleges, the classes are the SAME as in a 4 year university, in other words, if you are only looking for partying, you wont pass it. most of the professors at Reynolds and Tyler also teach at virginia commonwealth university. I believe Reynolds is the funniest, it has more activities and also it was more degrees than the other 2, so you have plenty to choose from. It is located at richmond, but if you choose that one, DO NOT rent/buy anything at richmond, get it in midlothian, chester, petersburg, the apartment prices are double in richmond. The 3 of them cost the same: 87 per credit for residents, and 240 (???) for out of state. You can apply online also, they accept almost everyone, you dont even need your school transcripts. oh, and i almost forget, as you are (i believe for your avatar) african american, Petersburg is the first town where free slaves migrated to escape oppression (just a fun fact). I live in petersburg, the housing in here is less expensive as in richmond or chesapeake/norfolk (where tidewater is located).
