What do you use for liners with cloth diapers?
Say your baby has a mild diaper rash... you want to use diaper cream, but cannot b/c it is advised against whilst using BumGenius cloth diapers. What do you use as a liner? I've been using cut up old t-shirts and I also bought some flushable liners, but the flushable liners feel rough like fabric softener sheets. I'm worried the cream will still seep through to the diaper.
There are a few different creams that are safe to use on cloth diapers without having to use liners. Northern Essence is the most popular:

If you are really concerned, you could use strips of fleece cut into liners. They stay soft and will protect your diapers. When they get really clogged with cream you can "strip" them to remove the cream build-up. To strip them fill your sink with hot water and mix in about a tablespoon of Dawn dish soap (the blue original scent) and let the liners soak until the water has cooled off. Then you can scrub some Dawn into the liners with a stiff brush if you think they are really clogged. Then thoroughly rinse them and throw them in the wash with your diapers.
Rashes should not be common when using cloth diapers. Our daughter only has a rash when she is cutting teeth. If you find your baby often has rashes then I would suggest reviewing your washing routine. You should be using an additive free detergent, which does not contain scents, dyes, enzymes, brighteners or softeners. I highly recommend Country Save. Also, you should be using 1/4 of the recommended amount of detergent, or even less! And you should be doing an extra rinse to rid the diapers of any detergent residue.
