on the front. (some people call it the caller ID screen) cracked. and i put tape on it to keep it from getting worse, or the glass getting everywhere. anyway, i had it in my pocket, and it smashed in( i know, i shouldnt of have it in my pocket) now the screen is purple, yellow, green and blue. i have 6 more months to go on it, and i cant do ANYTHING with it.
please help, and dont give foolish answers.

I'll do my best. Assuming your phone is still fully functional aside from a cracked screen, here's the deal: razr screens are relatively easy to replace. Actually, they're very easy to replace if you have the right tools and a bit of technical abilities. If not, then it's not worth the money to just go out and buy the tools and the screens to replace your phone's screen.
I would recommend that you go to AT&T and get a rep's opinion on whether or not it is fixable. If they say no and you are persistent, then go to a cell phone repair company (could be just a small mom-and-pop shop) and see what they have to say. If they say it'll cost you about $100, then ask them how much just labor costs. If they name a price that you are okay with (like, $20) then go out to ebay and buy the razr screen(s) to replace your broken one and return to the store and have them repair it for you. You need to make sure you purchase the correct screen for your razr, be it a V3i or V3r because they're slightly different in size. You'll see what i mean when you look at the model number beneath the battery...
Now let's assume that it's not repairable. A little worse off, but you can still go to craigslist or ebay and buy an unlocked phone and throw your sim card into the phone. Assuming your razr is a newer model, you could transfer your memory card too. Perhaps you'll be lucky enough that you'll be able to save your pics and stuff with it too!
After all that's said and done though, I expect that you'll have to pay anywhere from $15-30 minimum to fix your problem if you take any one of my suggestions. So, I wish you the very best of luck from here, cheers!
